Azerbaijan, Baku, July 10/ Trend , G.Veliyev /

Azerbaijan and Iran have agreed upon the coordination of GSM-frequencies in border areas, a source at the Ministry of Communications & Information Technologies told Trend on July 10.

The event organized in this regard in Iran was attended by the representatives of the three mobile operators in Azerbaijan and two Iranian companies. The main goal is to eliminate cases of crossing frequency and ensure normal operation of mobile communication in the border areas.

The meeting agreed the use of frequency resources by the operators of the two countries on an equal level. Thus, in the border territories, GSM operators determined concrete frequency resources, which will not be used by other side.

After the meeting, the sides signed a protocol. Similar arrangements have been signed with other countries as well.

There are plans to coordinate the issue of broadcasting with the Iranian side.
