Azerbaijan, Baku, August 24 / Trend G. Veliyev /
The first stage of the 'People's Computer' pilot project is approaching its end, the Azerbaijan representative for the company HP told Trend .
"The first stage of its completion is soon reaching its end soon. It is expected that its further realization will be considered," the company said.
The completion of the pilot project, which was planned for four months, was launched in April. Approximately 2,400 PCs were sold within the pilot project. Most of these computers (90 percent) are portable computers.
About 5,000 MiniNotes, laptops and desk-top computers were delivered within the pilot project. According to HP, a reduction in sale volume is characteristic of the summer months when the vacation and holiday period starts. It always negatively reflects purchasing activity.
Computers provided within the 'People's Computer' pilot project are only offered to teachers. The project sells PCs on interest free loans for up to 12 months at 25-40 percent less than the market value.
The project has been completed with the participation of HP and Microsoft. HP's local partner company, Bestcomp Group, supplied these computers.
