Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov criticized the activity of mobile communication, which in his opinion, "does not meet modern requirements, and it affects the development of the entire industry."
According to Turkmen Government, he expressed his dissatisfaction regarding the Communications Ministry's activity at the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Turkmen leader ordered to take steps to continuously improve the activity of mobile communication systems of the national company TM CELL (Altyn Asir), as well as other spheres of telecommunications.
Recently it was reported that the national mobile operator brought the number of users up to half a million people. The company plans to increase their number by half by the introduction of new services and further expansion of network coverage.
The only competitor on the market is "MTS Turkmenistan", 100-percent subsidiary of "Mobile TeleSystems ".
