The Russian Federal Service for Communications, IT and Mass Communications Supervision (Roskomnadzor) submitted a memorandum on cooperation in the sphere of personal data protection to CIS countries for consideration, Roskomnadzor said today.
Future cooperation was discussed during the first international conference on personal data protection in Russia on Oct. 27.
The conference addressed the international exchange of information, cooperation in personal data protection, and the harmonization of legislation with European Convention for the Protection of Individuals standards on automatic personal data processing.
During the conference, Russia, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan signed a memorandum on cooperation in the sphere of personal data protection.
The memorandum was sent to other CIS countries for review and signing.
