The number of users of the broadband connections ADSL of the public internet service provider AztelekomNet hit 4,349, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry told Trend on Tuesday.
Today the provider's network infrastructure can serve up to 9,000 users.
Taking into account the transfer of telecommunication nodes of Ganja and Sumgait on next-generation network (NGN), the wiring capacity of the company's broadband network was increased by 182 percent. If the figure was 4,912 units in early 2010, today this figure reached 13,856 units.
AztelekomNet provides the broadband internet services in 54 cities.
Given the subscriber base of other providers, the number of users of broadband Internet in the regions hit 15,200 subscribers as of Nov.1
