Telecommunication market of Azerbaijan is ready to transit to LTE standard (Long Term Evolution), the head of the Azerbaijani office of Huawei Technologies Fu Guoksin told Trend.

According to him, the company has been functioning in the Azerbaijani telecommunications market since 2002 and collaborates with telecom companies such as Aztelekom, Azertelecom, Azerfon, BTRIB, etc. Today, such solutions of Huawei as NGN, DWDM, SDH, GSM and 3G networks are used in building the network infrastructure of the communications operators in Azerbaijan. In the future, we also consider the possibility of using LTE standard, he said.
LTE is a major focus of the evolution of cellular networks of third generation (3G), which is capable of providing data transmission up to 150 Mbps, which 10 times exceeds the speed of data transmission of UMTS 3G networks and is several hundred times faster than technology GPRS/EDGE. Based on the LTE standard, 4G network is capable of operating at frequencies from 700 MHz to 2.7 GHz.

"Today the prospects for the LTE standard are already evident, and the market is emphasized in this direction. Azerbaijani mobile operators are interested in implementing LTE, and if there is demand, then we are ready to provide them. Our solutions today successfully operate in Norway," said Guoksin.

According to the head of the Azerbaijani representation of Huawei Technologies, the company will share its experiences and approaches at a scientific conference to be organized within the 16th international telecommunication exhibition BakuTel-2010.
