Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 6 / Trend H.Valiyev /

Delegates of the member countries of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) started to discuss key technological issues for future standards of mobile phones, the ITU reported.

The issue is considered at the World Radiocommunications Seminar (WRS-10), in Geneva on Dec. 6-10. Azerbaijan is represented by the Azerbaijani State Radio Frequencies Administration's Coordination and International Relations Department.

Azerbaijan will study the international aspects of using the radio frequencies of terrestrial and cosmic services, head of the Azerbaijani State Radio Frequencies Administration's Coordination and International Relations Department Mehdi Agagulov told Trend earlier.

Participants plan to discuss the international rules on the use of radio spectrum and satellite orbits, events in the fields of 3D-TV, digital broadcasting, aviation and maritime services, as well as coordination of satellite networks.

The seminars will provide a main technical and regulatory background information to assist participants in preparing for the World Radiocommunication Conference ITU, which will be held in Geneva from Jan.23 to Feb.17, 2012.

The WRS-10 will work on the international rules that will determine the future of radio connections. It should be noted that the recent ITU decision was made towads a platform for next generation mobile broadband IMT-Advanced.

After a detailed evaluation, ITU has determined that the platform LTE-Advanced and Wireless MAN-Advanced must be submitted with an official designation of IMT-Advanced, which can be regarded as the standard communication of the fourth generation (4G), as well as applied to technologies LTE and WiMax and 3G. Detailed specifications of the IMT, as expected, will be presented in a new ITU-R (Radiocommunication Sectorof the ITU) in early 2012.
