Azerbaijan will ensure even more qualitative and multi-functional broadcasting

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 16 / Trend A.Badalova /

It is expected to expand the information network and speed of information transfer, as well as provide more qualitative and multi-television broadcasting, with the realization of the Program of development and introduction of digital television broadcasting system DVB-T approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan.

The program will eliminate the "digital divide" through entering the global information space, developing social projects implemented by the state, reconstructing radio and television broadcasting network and its transformation into a constantly evolving and high potential economic sphere, the document reads.

The program will provide the population with equal rights to use information resources, increase the number of radio and television programs that provide interactive broadcasting and provide more services in telecommunications.

The program will also increase the reliability to prevent signals from neighboring countries, which impede broadcasting, ensure high quality TV broadcast and use compared to the analog system, which in turn will save electricity.

The program will also increase investment in this sector and payments to the state budget.
