On June 18, 2011, with the support of Azerfon-Vodafone, the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan held an event devoted to the results of the republican competition in E-education.
At the ceremony the winners of the large-scale competition in the education sector of Azerbaijan were announced. In general, 601 projects were presented to the competition. Of these, 98 were selected nominees.
The competition was held under the state program on informatization of the education system in 2008-2012 with the support of Azerfon-Vodafone and a number of reputable companies. The main goal of the contest is to popularize the use of electronic educational resources and Internet technologies in the learning process, information in the field of public education, identification of new forms of the Internet use for educational purposes as well as encouraging teachers to actively use information technologies in the learning process.
As the most innovative operator of the country, Azerfon-Vodafone promotes the use of the advanced technologies for the development of education in Azerbaijan.
