By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:

An international grant worth 200,000 manats has been attracted for the project implying the study of the induced seismicity problem in the Mingachevir reservoir and in the Takhtakorpu reservoir, the Republican Seismic Survey Center of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) told Trend Dec. 27.

The project will be implemented together with Russian scholars. Therefore, the amount will be distributed equally between the Azerbaijani and Russian sides.

"We expect the funds for the project to be obtained in early 2018," the center said.

The Republican Seismic Survey Center said earlier that a number of factors cause induced seismicity, which may be reflected in the transfer of energy to other sources. Modern Russian equipment is planned to be used during the research. It will be possible to study the induced seismicity due to this equipment.
