The number of internet service providers may greatly decrease in Azerbaijan, a source in the country's telecommunications market told Trend Jan. 11.
According to the source, this concerns small companies with a small number of subscribers.
"There will be a limited number of providers in the market, which may become an obstacle to free competition in the internet services market," the source said.
Over 40 providers are operating in Azerbaijan.
According to the source, one of the problems in the internet services market is the unprofessional approach of some providers to building their network infrastructure.
“The number of connections to internet providers is constantly growing, but they do not buy additional volume of internet traffic,” Azerbaijan’s communication operator Delta Telecom said earlier.
