By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:

Azerbaijan’s state communication operators will implement a single billing system, a source in Azerbaijan’s telecommunications market told Trend.

According to the information, the new billing system will link Aztelekom LLC, Baktelecom LLC and the Data Processing Center of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and will meet all their requirements.

“The system is ready and all required conditions to migrate the operators’ infrastructure to the system are created,” the source said.

According to the source, implementation of the new billing system is expected when the transmission networks of the operators are unified. The new infrastructure will be managed from a single center; however every operator will offer services separately.

Connection of the networks will allow the customers of Baktelecom LLC to freely use services of the operator in regions, whereas customers of Aztelekom LLC will be able to use services of their operator in Baktelecom’s coverage area in the state capital.

The unified billing will feature new prepaid payment system, i.e. a customer will be able to use services during a month after the payment.

The prepaid payment system was first implemented in Aztelekom’s Khachmaz telecommunications node. The main advantage of the prepaid system is that it allows customers to calculate their expenditures in advance.
