Azerbaijan’s AileTV internet provider notes jump in online payments

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8

By Sadraddin Agjayev – Trend:

Online payments of Azerbaijan’s AileTV Internet service company during the COVID-19 quarantine period have grown significantly and continue to grow, AileTV Marketing Specialist Sabir Mashadizade told Trend.

"Online payments of the company increased by nearly 40 percent compared to the pre-quarantine period," he said.

Mashadizade also noted that during the quarantine regime the peak demand first of all fell on internet services, followed by TV services.

“The average amount of traffic consumed by the subscribers while using the Aile TV web-network and watching TV has soared past 200 percent,” said the expert. “Usually the traffic load was observed after 8:00 in the evening, but during the lockdown, spending time online has shifted, as the consumption jumped, lasting from from about 10:00 in the morning, until about 2:00 in the night."

Mashadizadeh added that during the lockdown the company had neither problems with resources, nor faced them to date.

"We regard this as a good experience in responding to increased demand for company services in a timely manner and intend to use this to plan future anti-crisis measures."

Aile TV has been operating in the domestic ICT sector for 13 years and presently providing services such as digital, analog, cable TV, interactive (IPTV), and also provides optical internet services.
