BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. More than 120 state institutions have prepared and approved their internal instructions on information security in accordance with the recommendation of the Coordinating Commission of Information Security thanks to the methodological assistance of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan and trainings, Trend reports.
In addition, in order to ensure the safe use of the Internet in public institutions, to strengthen information security, as well as to increase awareness and knowledge of employees in this area, the Coordinating Commission of Information Security has prepared a draft "Instructions on information security" and sent it to state institutions.
Moreover, the commission has developed an "Information security and cybersecurity strategy".
Fake domains similar to domains of 52 state institutions of Azerbaijan were detected in the first half of this year.
For the first time in Azerbaijan, cyber security competitions will be held in October this year, uniting teams from the spheres of state security, telecommunications, and critical infrastructure, as well as the banking sphere.
"This competition, part of an initiative to strengthen information security in the country, is designed to promote and improve the cyber defense of important sectors of the state. Participating teams will be required to secure virtual information systems in a competition that will be conducted by simulating cyber attacks. This event represents an important step toward securing critical information systems," Head of the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security, Tural Mammadov said.
