Azeri delegation, including representatives of Ministry of Communication and IT and PA Aztelekom, is making a working visit to Kazakhstan in late May. PAs President Magomed Mamedov told Trend talks on installation of a section of fiber-optic cable Trans-Asia-Europe (TAE) along the seabed of Caspian Sea would be held in Kazakhstan.
Mamedov said also Azerbaijan had its suggestions on the project and is going to present them to Kazakh officials. An important fact is Azerbaijans wielding the vessel able to lay such a cable.
The cable shall be installed in two directions, Batumi-Riza and Siyazan-Aktau. Up-on completion of the project, Azerbaijan is becoming the main transit country, thus providing high-speed communication with Western Europe, Middle Asia and China.
