By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:

Tickets for new flights will be sold to citizens of Uzbekistan with a 25-percent discount, Trend reports referring to the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development.

Also, another 15 percent of the additional discount is provided if the ticket for a new flight is purchased through a tour operator. Thus, the total discount for new flights will amount to 40 percent.

It is also reported that hotel services purchased through a tour operator are also provided with a 10-percent discount. It is also planned that full service tour operators will reduce the cost of other services at corporate prices.

Thus, the cheapest flight Urgench-Fergana-Urgench, launched on February 3, 2020, will cost 1.8 million soums ($171). When a local tourist buys this ticket directly at the box office, the ticket price is reduced by 25 percent, amounting to 812,000 soums ($77.3). When purchasing a ticket through a tour operator, an additional 15 percent discount is provided, and the ticket price will amount 690,000 soums ($65.8), that is a discount of 392,000 soums ($37.4) will be provided.

In turn, if the hotel is booked by a tour operator, and the cost of a standard single room in Uzbekistan hotel is 270,000 soums ($25.7). Based on the corporate prices provided to the operator, the cost will amount to 200,000 soums ($19).

Due to the indicated 10 percent discount, the cost of the hotel will amount 180,000 soums ($17.1). According to the final mechanism, a hotel room, which costs 270,000 soums ($25.7), will eventually be 90,000 soums cheaper ($8.6).

In turn, the proceeds from the tourist tax will be completely directed towards programs that encourage inland travel. It is noted that hotel taxes are not included in the tax base by law.
