BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. The number of Azerbaijani citizens who visited foreign countries grew from January through September 2022, Trend reports via Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, this figure amounted to 1.11 million people, up by 1.7 times annually.
Some 47.3 percent of the above Azerbaijani citizens visited Türkiye, 17.7 percent - Russia, 11.1 percent - Iran, 8.5 percent - Georgia, and 15.4 percent - other countries from January through September 2022.
The number of citizens who visited Iran increased by 3.1 times over the year, Türkiye - by 1.7 times, Georgia - by 1.8 times, and Russia – by 21.2 percent.
Meanwhile, according to the committee, 1.16 million foreigners and stateless persons (an increase of 2.2 times) from 176 countries visited Azerbaijan.
