Turkmenistan Railways passes new rules regarding passenger transportation

Turkmenistan Railways has made changes to passenger transportation due to coronavirus threat, Trend reports with reference to Arzuw NEWS Information Portal.

The changes are being introduced due to the sanitary and epidemiological measures carried out in Turkmenistan.

According to the new changes, passengers should present a certificate of health received in hospitals at their place of residence or a permission from the police station, a document confirming a business trip has been allowed.

The mentioned documents should be presented during trips to Serhetabat, Kaakhka, Kerki, Gazojak, Tagtabazar, Gyzyletrek , Gerogly, Darganata and Farab border stations.

According to the new changes, buying tickets online has been temporarily disabled, they can be bough at station ticket offices.

Due to additional verification of documents, passengers should appear at least 45 minutes before the train departure.

Turkmenistan has previously introduced a new article 221, which has been added to the law of Turkmenistan "On the state border of Turkmenistan" in April, 2020. According to the changes, disinfection barriers for vehicles at checkpoints and structures designed for decontamination of road and rail transport had to be installed.
