Iran reveals volume of cargo loaded, unloaded at Khorramshahr port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28

A total of 139,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 22-September 21, 2020), Trend reports citing Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO).

According to the report, however, this figure was 346,000 tons in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 22-August 21, 2020).

“Thus, 124,000 tons of cargo was loaded and about 15,000 tons were unloaded in the port in the 6th month,” the report said.

During the reporting month, 123,000 tons of goods were exported and 14,000 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port, the report added.

According to the report, 561 tons of goods were unloaded for transit through Khorramshahr port in the sixth month.

“In addition, 26 tons of goods were loaded for transshipment, also 754 tons of goods were loaded and 7 tons were unloaded for other purposes,” the report noted.

According to the report, 5,820 tons of essential products, 36,300 tons of metal products, 81,100 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,140 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts, 180,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded through the Khorramshahr port.

At the same time, 906,000 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, wood, and other similar goods, 13,100 tons of container products, and 3 tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded during the same month.

In total, 5.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and 4.5 million tons were unloaded through Iranian ports in the 6th month of the current Iranian year.
