Russian airlines get admission on conducting regular flights to Uzbekistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 20

By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:

Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, also known as Rosaviatsiya, has issued admission to a number of airlines carrying out passenger and cargo transportation for regular flights to 12 countries, including Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the press service of the Agency.

It was noted in the statement that the planes can again fly on the Russia-Uzbek routes: Novosibirsk - Bukhara, Yekaterinburg - Bukhara, Krasnodar - Karshi, Moscow - Navoi, St. Petersburg - Nukus, Yekaterinburg - Urgench and St. Petersburg - Urgench.

“However, this does not mean that flights to Uzbekistan can be conducted at the moment. Admission is just a right that airlines will be able to carry out flight when international flights resume in the future,” Rosaviatsia explained.

Earlier it was reported that one of the Russian low-cost airlines intends to start flights to Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan planned to resume regular flights with Russia at the end of September. However, the Russia rejected the offer.

From October 1, all border crossing points in Uzbekistan are opened for road, rail, and air transport.

Air traffic was terminated in Uzbekistan from March 16, 2020, and from April 1, 2020, all border checkpoints of the country were closed.
