About 17,700 tons of cargo were exported and 384 tons were imported through the Astara port in the Gilan Province (northern Iran) in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 21, 2020, through January 19, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 30,700 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port within the 10th month. Of this, 16,500 tons were loaded and 13,900 tons were unloaded.

“Furthermore, 1,030 tons of cargo were loaded and 10,100 tons were unloaded in the port for transit in the 10th month,” the statistics said.

At the same time, 57 tons of cargo were unloaded in the Astara port for transshipment, and 1,820 tons were loaded for other purposes, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 5,000 tons of essential products, 151 tons of metal products, 6,490 tons of construction and mining materials, 24 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port during the 10th month of the current Iranian year.

“Moreover, 15,600 tons of chemicals, 1,060 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 92 tons of small and various products, 892 tons of container products, 1,030 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port over the mentioned month,” the statistics said.

As reported, a total of 10.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 10th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.32 million tons were unloaded and 4.55 million tons were loaded.
