A total of 1.86 million tons of cargo were transported in the Lorestan Province (western Iran) during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), Director for Lorestan Province Roads and Transport Department Reza Abdi said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.
According to Abdi, the cargo was transported within 124,000 trips. There are 3 cargo terminals, as well as 96 cargo companies in the Lorestan Province.
The director added that about 10,200 trucks with 17,400 drivers operate under these companies.
"In addition, 10,200 pickup trucks are operating in cargo transportation in the Lorestan Province," he said.
