The number of passenger planes received by the Kerman International Airport in the Kerman Province (south-eastern Iran) increased by 11 percent, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, the airport received a total of 2,490 passenger planes in 6 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 2,020 units.
About 252,000 passengers were transported through Kerman International Airport in six months. Passenger transportation increased by 8 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 234,000 passengers had been transported through this airport in the same period last Iranian year.
“Moreover, 1,550 tons of cargo were transported through the Kerman International Airport within the mentioned period. Cargo transportation increased by 26 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, the figure amounted to 1,490 tons in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Reportedly, Iran's Kerman International Airport is located in an area of 7,820 square meters and can receive more than 1.1 million passengers a year.
