BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports increased by 13.7 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, more than 148 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting period. Of this, 79.1 million tons were loaded and 69.3 million tons were unloaded.
“More than 50.3 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 10.7 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year. So, 28.7 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and 21.6 million tons were unloaded. The loaded products increased by 2.6 percent and unloaded products - by 23.7 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year,” the statistics said.
In addition, about 28.7 million tons of essential products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports within the mentioned period, which is an increase of 25.2 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year. Of this, 2.1 million tons were loaded and 26.5 million tons were unloaded.
According to the statistics, about 9.87 million tons of metal products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 12.8 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year. Of this, 9.24 million tons were loaded and about 625,000 tons were unloaded.
“At the same time, about 22.3 million tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting period. This is an increase of 1.4 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year. Of this, 19.9 million tons were loaded and 2.43 million tons were unloaded,” the statistics said.
Within the last Iranian year, 535,000 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports. This is an increase of 39.5 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year. Of this, 83,600 tons were loaded and 451,000 tons were unloaded.
According to the statistics, 4.66 million tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 5.3 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year. Of this, 3.38 million tons were loaded and about 1.28 million tons were unloaded.
Furthermore, about 1.08 million tons of leather, clothing, fiber, paper, and wood materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 23.2 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year. So, 50,500 tons of goods were loaded and 1.03 million tons were unloaded.
More than 7.1 million tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the same period. The loaded/unloaded products increased by 20.2 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year. Of this, about 3.38 million tons were loaded and 3.72 million tons were unloaded, the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 23.8 million tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 20.5 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year. So, about 12.2 million tons of container products were loaded and 11.6 million tons were unloaded.
Moreover, about 66.4 million tons of goods were exported and 37.7 million tons were imported through Iranian ports within the last Iranian year.
Also, 4.09 million tons of cargo were loaded and 3.98 million tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for transit in the last Iranian year.
According to the statistics, 6.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and 25 million tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for cabotage last Iranian year.
As well as, 1.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and 1.76 million tons were unloaded for transshipment.
“Over the last Iranian year, about 164,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 773,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for other purposes,” the statistics said.
