BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) decreased by 17.6 percent in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, 238,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the 6th month. Of this, about 218,000 tons were loaded and about 19,800 tons were unloaded.

Meanwhile, about 218,000 tons of cargo were exported and about 19,300 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month, the statistics said.

Also, 392 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for transit, while 646 tons of cargo were loaded and 80 tons were unloaded for other purposes within the 6th month.

According to the statistics, 4,950 tons of essential products, about 31,500 tons of metal products, about 181,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 3,460 tons of equipment were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 6th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 4,060 leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 36,000 tons of container products, and 13,400 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, about 13.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 6th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, about 6.67 million tons were loaded and about 6.5 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
