BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. More than 12.7 million tons of non-oil products were loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Imam Khomeini port in Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran), during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), Director General of Ports and Maritime Department in Khuzestan Province Behrouz Aghaei said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to Aghaei, a total of 8.17 million tons of essential products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.
The director general added that it is possible to transit both oil and non-oil products to Iraq, Türkiye, Caucasus countries and other destinations from Imam Khomeini port, which has the capacity of receiving 60 million tons of cargo per year.
“In general, 2,767 ships docked at the ports of Khuzestan Province over 6 months, he said.
