BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 22. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) decreased by 41.8 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 183,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the 8th month. Of this, about 156,000 tons were loaded and about 27,000 tons were unloaded.

Meanwhile, over 155,000 tons of cargo were exported and 26,600 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month.

Also, 16 tons of cargo were loaded and 238 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, while 526 tons of cargo were loaded and 109 tons were unloaded for other purposes within the 8th month.

Some 7,460 tons of essential products, 3,900 tons of metal products, over 142,000 tons of construction and mining materials and 3,650 tons of equipment were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 8th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 1,070 tons of chemicals, 1,680 leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 72 tons of small and assorted goods, and 22,400 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, approximately 12.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 8th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.92 million tons were loaded and 5.76 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
