BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 5. Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan switched to electronic registration of international road transport based on TIR carnet, Trend reports.
According to the data, the first international transportation under the digital transport program between the two countries has already started.
The system will allow you to carry out the clearance process accurately and in a short time when transporting goods across the customs border.
The electronic version of the TIR system was previously implemented in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, and the connection of Turkmenistan will be of great importance for Central Asian countries in the application of paperless mode in international cargo transportation.
The passage of goods across the border of the two countries will be regulated by the TIR system, which operates on the basis of the Customs Convention on International Transport of Goods Under the Cover of TIR Carnets (TIR Convention).
Meanwhile, this system makes it possible to simplify and speed up the customs clearance procedure significantly.
