ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 2. Turkmenistan and China have signed an agreement on international road transport, Trend reports.
This agreement was signed at the 6th meeting of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, which was held in Ashgabat city.
The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, and the Chinese side was headed by Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Ding Xuexiang.
During the meeting, the parties noted that over the past period since the 5th meeting, held in November 2021 in online format, agreements between the leaders of the two countries have been implemented jointly, and many tasks defined by the committee have been completed.
Energy and the transport and logistics sector were identified as priorities of bilateral cooperation.
The participants of the meeting agreed on the need to build up the Turkmen-Chinese partnership in such areas as trade, energy, transport, infrastructure, agriculture, as well as creating a favorable business climate for entrepreneurs of the two countries, for the exchange of scientific and technological achievements and the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties.
Furthermore, the parties noted the great potential of Turkmenistan and China for the development of cooperation in the technological field, finding new opportunities to promote the sustainable development of the economies of the two countries.
Meanwhile, the development of an economic partnership between Turkmenistan and China includes active cooperation in the fields of energy, infrastructure projects, and trade.
China is an important consumer of Turkmen natural gas and finances and builds infrastructure facilities in Turkmenistan, and both countries continue to strengthen economic ties, which brings mutual benefits and contributes to the development of both economies.
