Kazatomprom reveals program on transformation until 2019

The state-run Kazatomprom, engaged in uranium mining, nuclear fuel cycle and power generation in Kazakhstan, submitted an updated portfolio of projects and a road map for the 2017-2018 Transformation Program to the Business Modernization and Transformation Council.

The presentation took place at the meeting held Nov.2 under the chairmanship of Kazatomprom JSC Chairman Galymzhan Pirmatov and attended by representatives of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, chief directors and heads of structural subdivisions of the national nuclear company.

The updated portfolio includes 11 projects, among which the most ambitious are the tasks on automation and digitalization, in particular the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning System.

In addition, a new procurement project was introduced, aimed to reduce procurement costs and obtain additional benefits.

Pirmatov noted that the company should first of all transform the corporate culture and create new skills and tools that help to make effective management decisions.

Currently, 4 transformation projects have been completed at Kazatomprom: target models have been implemented for information security, risk management, marketing and sales, and has moved to the service model for providing SAP licenses. Innovations are aimed at reducing the costs of the company and ensuring an effective and safe operation.
