A Tajik delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Azim Ibrohim has arrived in Tashkent city, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The visit program envisages holding of meetings and negotiations with the Uzbek authorities. The talks will be held at a number of ministries and departments and cover topical issues of bilateral relations, as well as practical aspects of preparation for the upcoming Uzbek-Tajik contacts.

The preparation for the state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan scheduled for early March will become one of the main topics during the talks, Tajik media reported.

The sides will also discuss in detail the draft agreements Dushanbe and Tashkent intend to sign following the visit of the Uzbek president to Tajikistan.

Diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were established on Oct. 22, 1992.
