Kazakh president votes in parliamentary elections

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has voted in the elections to the Majilis (lower chamber of Parliament) and maslikhats (local representative body) at the polling station 182 in the National Academic Library, presidential press-service reported.

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has voted in the elections to the Majilis (lower chamber of Parliament) and maslikhats (local representative body) at the polling station 182 in the National Academic Library, presidential press-service reported.

"I am sure that Kazakh people will make right choices for the future development of the country, peace in our common homeland," Nazarbayev said.

"Today is a great political event in our country - election of the members of the Majilis and maslikhats. Our people have always voted for peace, prosperity and the future of the country and the strengthening of independence,"Nazarbayev said.

According to Nazarbayev, there are all conditions in the country for open and fair elections.

The Nur Otan national-democratic party, Adilet, Kazakhstan Patriots' Party, Nationwide social-democratic party, Ak Zhol, Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh Social Democratic Party Auyl are all taking part in the elections.
