According to the Ministry, DORC is designed to provide the depth of oil refining at about 87 percent.

"Analysis of the technological scheme of the company including deep oil refining complex shows that in case of its realization the Atyrau Oil Refinery would have qualified processes of refining heavy residues and light oil refining, aimed at maximizing production of motor fuels that meet Euro-5 requirements and deep oil processing at about 87% ," the Ministry said.

Thanks to the launch of the project, the production of kerosene and diesel fuel will significantly increase, and fuel oil production will decline.

"As a result of the commissioning of the complex deficit of high-octane gasoline and jet fuel in the domestic market will be eliminated, yield of light oil will be increased up to 77 percent, the quality of motor fuels that meet Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards will be improved," the statement says.

It should be recalled that the project on the construction of DORC is implemented within the state program of forced industrial and innovative development of Kazakhstan and is the final stage of reconstruction of the Atyrau Oil Refinery.
