The Kazakh Oil and Gas Ministry will negotiate a transition period for Kazakh oil and gas equipment manufacturers during the country's joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO), executive secretary of the Kazakh Oil and Gas Ministry Kanatbek Safinov said today.

"Kazakhstan is now on the verge of joining the WTO," he said. "Strict requirements were put forward. The rules will be adapted in Kazakhstan, but there will be a certain transition period which we now agree."

However, there are some strict rules that must be removed. For example, such rules as providing a 20 per cent conventional discount for plants, that is producers, will not be applied in the future.
