The first official visit of the President of Iran Hassan Rouhani to Kazakhstan takes place Sept.8, the Iranian embassy in Astana told Trend.
The Iranian President arrives at the invitation of the Kazakh leader Nursultan Nazarbayev. His plane is scheduled to arrive around 8 p. m. Astana time (UTC+05:00) the embassy said.
The embassy noted that it is not only the first visit of Hassan Rouhani to Kazakhstan, but also in Central Asia as a whole.
It is expected that a bilateral meeting of the two leaders will take place in Akorda, Sept.9. The meeting will be focused on the issues of expansion of bilateral cooperation.
During the two-day visit, the presidents of the two countries will discuss bilateral relations, issues of their development and intensification, as well as major regional and international issues.The meeting of the president of Iran with the government of Kazakhstan is also scheduled.
"The Iranian president will participate in a joint forum of entrepreneurs and businessmen of the two countries," the embassy said.
It is planned that documents in the sphere of development of bilateral relations, particularly in trade and economic cooperation and in the strengthening of cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan in the international and regional organizations will be signed during the visit.
In August 2013, Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the inauguration ceremony of Hassan Rouhani. The presidents of the two countries, in addition to a meeting in Tehran, held a meeting and talks on the sidelines of the Summit of Heads of SCO member states in September 2013 in Bishkek, as well as at the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia in May 2014 in Shanghai.
Presidents of the two countries will take part in important regional events such as the Summit of Heads of SCO member states in Dushanbe and summit of Heads of the Caspian littoral states in Astrakhan September 11-12 this year.
