BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 1. Kazakhstan is already concluding negotiations with France and Switzerland on the matter of fisheries export and some commercial agreements have been reached, Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

This signals the continuation of cooperation between Kazakhstan and European countries. The volume of fisheries exports from Kazakhstan to the EU countries increased by 1.5 times and reached 8,700 tons.

The discussions on the questions of Kazakh agricultural exports to European countries was one of the key talking points during the meeting between the Kazakh Minister of Agriculture, Yerbol Karashukeyev, and the European Commissioner for Agriculture, Janusz Wojciechowski.

Karashukeyev also added that Kazakhstan is interested in continued cooperation agricultural cooperation with the EU.

The EU is one of the key trade partners of Kazakhstan. The share of the Union in the overall trade balance of Kazakhstan accounts for 30 percent.

The level of agricultural production exports from Kazakhstan to the EU increased by 35.6 percent and reached $995.5 million in 2022. Kazakhstan managed to increase the export of flax, wheat, rapeseed, and processed cereals.
