Kazakhstan's construction work volume surges to $1.5B

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8. The volume of construction work increased by 15.7 percent in Kazakhstan from January through March 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, and reached 689.9 billion Kazakh tenge ($1.5 billion), Trend reports via the Kazakh Bureau of National Statistics.

Private construction organizations accounted for the majority of the total volume of construction work, contributing 83.1 percent, followed by foreign organizations at 16.7 percent, and state organizations with just 0.2 percent.

An increase in the volume of construction work from January through March 2023 year-over-year is due to the construction and repair of non-residential buildings (by 21.1 percent) and facilities (by 18.1 percent).

The largest share of completed construction work in the reporting period fell on non-residential (22.8 percent) and residential building construction (14 percent).

Overall, an increase in the volume of construction work was observed in 18 regions of Kazakhstan.
