BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. Kazakhstan's Kazgermunai, a joint venture with KazMunayGas, has commissioned the Aksai Yuzhny gas condensate field in Kazakhstan's Kyzylorda region, Trend reports via the press service of KazMunayGas.
KazMunayGas has started an active phase of development of this project following the results of a meeting chaired by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the development of the gas and energy industries, held in October 2022.
The launch of the project has enabled Kazgermunai LLP, to increase its gas supply to the Kyzylorda region by up to 100 million cubic meters per year. This means that the enterprise's gas supply to the region will now reach 300 million cubic meters per year, up from the previous 200 million cubic meters. This increase in supply will meet the growing demand for gas among residents of the region.
KazMunayGas also conducts a number of other activities to increase the production of commercial gas. As part of the execution of the instructions of Kazakhstan's president, the company intends to start supplying gas from the Rozhkovskoye field by the end of 2023.
In the medium term, from 2024 to 2025, it is planned to launch supplies from the Central Urikhtau field, which will provide an additional 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
In addition, it is expected to produce 2.1 billion cubic meters of commercial gas from the Kalamkas and West Prorva fields by 2027–2030. All this will allow KazMunayGas to additionally supply about 6 billion cubic meters of gas for the domestic market until 2030.
