ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 25. Five cross-border trade hubs are being created in Kazakhstan, said Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kayrat Torebayev, Trend reports.

As he noted, this is the international center of industrial cooperation “Central Asia” in the Turkestan region (Uzbekistan); industrial trade and logistics complex in Zhambyl region (Kyrgyzstan); cross-border trade center “Eurasia” in West Kazakhstan region (Russia); container hub "Caspian" in the Mangystau region, as well as the cross-border hub "Khorgos knot" in the Zhetysu region (China).

"The creation of new production facilities jointly with border countries by building a system of cross-border hubs as priority development zones will contribute to the development of industrial cooperation and transport and logistics infrastructure," he said at the platform of the Central Communications Service.

According to him, this will improve the well-being of the country's population by achieving goals for sustainable development of the industrial sector of the economy, creating and developing modern infrastructure for the development of production, as well as logistics. In addition, interregional and international transport and economic relations will expand, a favorable industrial and investment climate will be created in the country and the self-sufficiency of the national economy will increase.

As he noted, the export potential of domestic goods and services with high added value will also develop, and import dependence will be reduced through the development of domestic production.

"These measures will significantly increase export volumes and expand the geography of supplies of Kazakhstani goods. In general, work to increase non-resource exports will ultimately have a positive impact on the country’s balance of payments," he added.
