ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 3. Kazakhstan is going to start exporting sodium cyanide to neighboring countries (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia) in the next ten years, forecasting a growing demand in these countries, Trend reports.

As the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan said, in this regard, a sodium cyanide production plant is being built in the Jambyl region of the country.

The launch of the plant is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2025. The Altynalmas Reagents enterprise is located in the free economic zone Chemical Park Taraz in the city of Shu. Production capacity - 25,000 tons of sodium cyanide - this is a key and indispensable chemical reagent for the gold mining industry today. The product produced is sodium cyanide of the highest quality with a purity of at least 98 percent, used in gold hydrometallurgy.

The new enterprise will use licensed technology from the world leader in chemical production – Chemours (formerly DuPont). The design and construction is being carried out by the leading German engineering company Glatt Gmbh, which has previously successfully implemented 2 similar projects in the world.

The best advanced technologies and modern labor protection and environmental standards will be introduced at the enterprise.

Also, as a result of the project, more than 100 permanent jobs will be created.
