ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 1. One of the most important sectors of the economy of the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan is agriculture, with a production volume of 1 trillion tenge, said the head of the executive power of the region (Akim) Darkhan Satybaldy, Trend reports.
A record 3.3 million tons of crops were harvested as a result of agricultural diversification from vegetable and garden items.
This year, the region's intense horticulture volume has climbed to 5,405 hectares. Productivity improved fivefold as a result. Simultaneously, the region's total greenhouse area reached 1,640 hectares. 140,000 tons of their merchandise were collected.
In addition, by 2027, it is planned to establish an agricultural zone on 100 hectares and construct a new greenhouse on 500 hectares.
According to Satybaldy, the region is planning projects with significant foreign textile enterprises. Construction on a corn-deep processing factory began this year. Construction will be finished by the end of 2025.
Furthermore, the region also occupies a leading position in meat exports. "The share of meat from cattle is 85 percent; small cattle are 60 percent," he noted.
