Kazakhstan to make major investments in dev't of districts of Kostanay region

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 7. The Government of Kazakhstan has approved a Comprehensive Plan (CP) for the socio-economic development of the city of Arkalyk, Amangeldi and Zhangeldi districts of the Kostanay region for the period from 2023 to 2027, Trend reports.

The CP envisions 137 measures in all, with a total cost of 504.4 billion tenge (about $1.1 billion). The Republican budget will contribute 59.4 billion tenge (about $129.3 million), the local budget will contribute 21.1 billion tenge (about $45.9 million), and other sources will contribute 423.9 billion tenge (about $922.6 million).

The majority of the financial assistance will go toward developing the economy's real sector, which includes the expansion of industry, agriculture, and business operations.

The investments will be used to implement various projects, such as the construction of a plant for processing nephrite jade from the Akzhal deposit (creating 100 jobs), the construction of a wind power plant with an installed capacity of 48 MW, the extraction of fire clay and the processing of rare earth raw materials (creating 260 jobs), the geological exploration of the deposits (creating 1,200 jobs), etc.

In addition, it is planned to upgrade substations and transmission lines with a total length of 146 km (in the Amangeldinsky and Dzhangeldinsky districts).

Another key aspect of development is the introduction of digital technologies among the population. Infrastructure will be built to provide broadband internet in 18 villages.
