Kazakhstan's Pavlodar attracts increased investors

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 12. About 965 billion tenge (about $2.1 billion) of investments were attracted to the economy of the Pavlodar region of Kazakhstan in 2023, said the head of the region Asain Baykhanov, Trend reports.

He made the remark during a meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

According to the head of the region, this is 26 percent more than in 2022.

The regional economy has seen growth in the passenger transportation sector by 31 percent, mechanical engineering by 13 percent, and construction by 8 percent.

In addition, in 2023, more than 73 kilometers of heat supply networks were reconstructed, and all 10 boiler units were repaired at the Ekibastuz CHPP (coal handling and preparation plant).

At the same time, 11 km of a new process water pipeline was built, and 5.4 km of main heat supply networks were reconstructed in the region.

Moreover, the gradual modernization of public transport has begun in the region. In 2023, the city bus fleet was replenished with 130 new buses. 722 kilometers of roads were repaired.

To note, the volume of investments in fixed capital in Kazakhstan increased by 13.7 percent and amounted to $39.5 billion in 2023.

Kazakhstan plans to implement 326 investment projects in 2024. The total cost of these investment projects will be 3.8 trillion tenge (about $8.5 billion).
