ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 1. Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ, national company), Chinese Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co., LTD and Russian Slavtrans-Service JSC have signed a memorandum of cooperation, Trend reports.
According to the KTZ, the parties are considering the possibility of joint investment in the creation of a new transport and warehouse base in the Selyatino terminal (Russia).
The goal is to further promote and deepen Chinese-Kazakh-Russian import-export economic and trade cooperation.
In addition, the parties will also jointly develop liner transportation Xian-Alashankou/Khorgos-Selyatino to strengthen the international logistics corridor.
The parties expressed confidence that the new memorandum will be a significant step in providing high-quality logistics solutions.
To note, Russian Slavtrans-Service has been operating since 2001 and is one of the leaders in the railway container and warehouse logistics industry, providing services at the highest level.
Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transportation by rail in Kazakhstan amounted to 416.4 million tons from January through December 2023. This is 2.8 percent more than from January through December 2022.
At the same time, cargo turnover by rail for the above period amounted to 326.8 billion ton-kilometers, which is 4.8 percent more than in the same period in 2022.
