International conference to focus on bird flu

(KAZINFORM) - Bird flu once again will be the subject of discussion at the IV Central Asian international conference on agriculture and food industry AGRICA-2006. It will be held on October 31 in Almaty, reports Trend.

Director of episodic monitoring and veterinary measures department of Kazakhstan Agriculture Ministry Nigmat Zhakupbayev stated at the last year conference that Kazakhstan was ready for invasion of bird flu. Prophylactic actions, operational localization and liquidation of hotbeds of diseases let avoid wide spread of infection. State budget allocated KZT 172.5 mln for struggle against the bird flu.

Specialists from Kazakhstan and Central Asia, leaders and managers of agroindustrial complexes of Austria, Belgium, Germany, Poland and other far-abroad countries will take part in AGRICA-2006.

It will be organized by Kazakh exhibition company Iteca and its international partners - ITE Group Plc. (Great Britain) Рё GIMA (Germany). An official backing will be rendered by Kazakhstan Government, Kazakhstan Agriculture Ministry, Kyrgyzstan Agriculture, Water and Processing Industry Ministry, Uzbekistan Agriculture and Water Resources Ministry, Kazakhstan alliance of poultry farmers, Kazakh farmers union and akimat of Almaty.
