Unknown assailants have attacked a son of high-ranking official, hijacking his car and stealing a large amount of money in the Chui region of Kyrgyzstan, press service of the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry reported.

Unknown assailants have attacked a son of high-ranking official, hijacking his car and stealing a large amount of money in the Chui region of Kyrgyzstan, press service of the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry reported.

Baktybek Sydykov, son of Usen Sydykov, the ex-state secretary of Kyrgyzstan turned to the Sverdlov district police office on November 15, alleging that three unknown persons have hijacked his Toyota Land Cruiser-200 and at a knife-point denuded him of $1,900 thousand, €350, documents, and a cell phone approximately at midnight, 24 KG reported.

The criminals took the official's son and his friend out of Bishkek and put them off at the village of Ozernoe, Alamudun district, Chui region.

Sydykov, the president of the international airport Manas was taken to hospital with a closed craniocerebral injury.

Investigation is ongoing.
