Students and local residents of Kyrgyzstan are becoming acquainted with the culture and history of Japan. Days of Japan in Osh were held in Osh State University.
Rector of the university Kanybek Isakov said that Japan has long been an advanced country in the economy, and it is developing dynamically. He said that Osh State University is always ready to cooperate with Japan in the field of education and that 50 students are studying the Japanese language, culture, tradition.
Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in the Kyrgyz Republic Satoshi Ijitsu said that Osh University has been participating in events related to Japan for the third time. He hopes that cooperation between Japan and Kyrgyzstan will further develop and noted that the embassy welcomes the strengthening of ties between the university and the embassy.
The participants were briefly taught the basics of the Japanese language, besides, there was a presentation about the culture and customs, the holidays of the Japanese people, master classes in martial arts: Sumo, Aikido and Kendo, Osh State University students sang famous Japanese songs and danced folk Japanese dances.
In addition, the audience was invited to the first concert of a group of Japanese drums "Ooedodayko", which will be held on May 18 at the Osh National Drama Theater.
