BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 17. Japanese Yokogawa Electric Corporation is ready to modernize some hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) in Kyrgyzstan, Matsunaga Shoko, head of the representatives of Yokogawa Electric Corporation, said, Trend reports with reference to Kyrgyz media.
The issue was discussed during the meeting of Deputy Speaker of the Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan, Jamilya Isaeva and the representatives of Yokogawa Electric Corp.
Isaeva said that one of the priorities in the foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan is to develop the cooperation with Japan.
“Our main goal is to further strengthen the friendly ties between our countries. It is necessary to continue bilateral cooperation. It is also important to implement the necessary projects in the energy sector. Kyrgyzstan is suitable for the construction of new hydroelectric power plants and the development of renewable energy sources,” she added.
Kyrgyz side also noted that the country is interested in the cooperation with Japanese entrepreneurs, and supports the initiative on investment in the energy field.
