BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 18. Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Germany increased almost 2.5 times year-on-year, Trend reports, with the reference to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
Last year, the value of trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $180 million, compared to $75 million in 2021.
According to the statistics, the exports from Kyrgyzstan to Germany increased by 26 percent in the reporting period, and reached $15.7 million ($12 million in 2021).
At the same time, the value of German exports to Kyrgyzstan from January through December 2022 made up $164.6 million, facing a considerable increase of 2.6 times over the same period of 2021 ($63 million).
Germany is one of the most important partners of Kyrgyzstan in Europe. Germany mainly exports motor vehicles, machinery and chemical products (pharmaceuticals and cosmetics) to Kyrgyzstan. Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan exports agricultural products to Germany.
The value of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover totaled $11.8 billion in 2022, which is an increase of 41 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($8.3 billion).
