BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. The rise in consumer prices in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 15.2 percent by January 2023 over the same period in 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

According to the EEC, the rise in food prices in Kyrgyzstan in January 2023 was 17.6 percent year-on-year.

The growth in non-food prices in the country in January 2023 amounted to 14 percent over the same month of last year.

At the same time, during the reporting period, the rise in the price of services in Kyrgyzstan made up 9 percent year-on-year.

In January 2023, there was a significant increase in consumer prices across the EAEU (by 12.8 percent). Prices for food products raised by 12.2 percent, and non-food products and paid services increased by 13 percent in the EAEU during the period.

According to the information, Kyrgyzstan ranked second in the frame of price growth among the EAEU countries. The largest increase in consumer prices in the EAEU in January 2023 was recorded in Kazakhstan, where the figure reached 20.7 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the growth in consumer prices in Belarus was 12 percent, in Russia - 11 percent, and in Armenia - 8 percent. The food products rose in price by 25 percent (Kazakhstan), 13 percent (Belarus), 12 percent (Armenia), and 10 percent (Russia).
